Inpatient Behavioral Health Services
The Robert Young Inpatient Psychiatric units offer compassionate and competent mental health and substance abuse care to adults and adolescents who are in need of acute short term hospitalization for crisis intervention, assessment and symptom stabilization. Psychiatric treatment is provided for an acute depressive or psychotic episode, or as an intervention for individuals who are a danger to themselves and others. Referral will be made before discharge for appropriate follow-up treatment.
The Inpatient Psychiatric units have served the community for 28 years. The 54 bed licensed facility includes six beds dedicated to an adolescent unit that specializes in treating youth with both a mental illness and a chemical dependency. The Robert Young Center Inpatient Services department continues to have one of the lowest average lengths of stays in the nation, thus using health care dollars prudently.
Patients are followed by their admitting psychiatrist, Robert Young Outpatient Services, and/or community agencies, upon discharge. Emergency services are available 24 hours, seven days a week to provide crisis intervention and assess the need for emergency inpatient or outpatient treatment.
