The complex problem of the aging population is a priority of the Robert Young Center. The professionals serving the elderly clients in our Outpatient Department include licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrists, and registered nurses. Services to older adults provide a variety of evaluation, treatment, and support techniques to our clients age 55 and over, and their family system, including:

There is no reason to be afraid of memory loss anymore. A visit to the Memory Clinic can help find the answer. There are approximately 60 different reasons for memory loss, with the most common reasons one's being stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Vascular Dimentia, nutritional deficiencies, and emotional problems. Finding the correct diagnosis of the problem and determining ways to delay the progression are the key steps necessary for piece of mind and effective treatment.

 

The Memory Clinic offers a multidisciplinary team approach to addressing problems that cause memory loss. A licensed clinical social work, nurse and physician with a special interest in geriatrics make up the team.

A professional referral to the Memory Clinic is not necessary.

The Alzheimer's Diagnostic Clinic offers a multispecialty team approach to addressing Alzheimer's. The clinic is staffed by a clinical social worker, nurse and physician who all have a special interest in geriatrics.

 

The Alzheimer's Diagnostic Clinic is designated by the Illinois Department of Public Health as a primary provider site of the Regional Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center.

 

Patients may be referred to the Clinic by their personal physicians, but a professional referral is not necessary. Family members also can make an appointment for a complete evaluation. Payment is made through Medicare, insurance, or self-pay.
