General surgeons at Trinity offer a full range of surgical care, including expertise in the latest minimally invasive techniques including da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery. The department includes physicians with expertise in colon and rectal surgery, trauma and emergency surgery, surgical care for cancer patients, bariatric surgery and pediatric surgery.
Services Provided
General surgery is frequently performed to alleviate suffering when a cure is unlikely through medication alone. It can be used for such routine procedures performed in a physician's office or for more complicated operations requiring a medical team in a hospital setting. Areas of the body treated by general surgery include the stomach, liver, intestines, appendix, breasts, thyroid gland, salivary glands, some arteries and veins, and the skin.
Trinity’s general surgeons provide a full range of consulting, diagnostic and treatment services. This includes abdominal, laparoscopic, oncologic, endoscopic and endocrine surgery. Special interests include minimally invasive colorectal and heartburn surgery, weight loss surgery, and laparoscopic removal of solid organs such as the adrenal gland, gall bladder, appendix and spleen; hernia repair, benign and malignant breast disease, inflammatory and neoplastic pancreatic disease.
