Group Psychotherapy
Group Psychotherapy for adolescents is designed to address a number of areas important to healthy emotional development. While one-on-one sessions can be productive, certain circumstances and struggles, particularly in adolescents, can be handled very effectively in group settings.
These groups help communicate to children and teens that they are not alone in what they are feeling. The group sessions can also be instrumental in providing the adolescents with an established network of peers who can provide additional support. Topics in group psychotherapy sessions include:
- Enhancement of self-esteem
- Stress management
- Communication
- Interpersonal skill building
