Critical Care
Trinity Regional Health System offers multidisciplinary care to critically ill children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
Our critical care division includes:
- Medical ICU – Trinity Rock Island
- Surgical ICU – Trinity Rock Island
- Stepdown – Trinity Rock Island
- Combined Medical ICU and Surgical ICU – Trinity Bettendorf
- Combined Medical ICU and Surgical ICU – Trinity Muscatine
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) provides critical care for post-trauma patients, neurological patients, vascular surgical patients, complicated abdominal surgical patients and cardiovascular surgical patients.
The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides care for the acutely ill cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal and multisystem failure patients, as well as psychiatric patients requiring intensive care.
The Stepdown Unit provides a progressive level of care that transitions the acutely ill patient from ICU to home. The staff cares for patients with such diagnoses as myocardial infarction, angina, congestive heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. They also care for patients who have had open-heart surgery, angiograms and angioplasty.
