Our mission would not be possible without dedicated treatment professionals. As shown in our
2007 QC survey, General Practitioners are the frontline of care for most families and patients seeking help and treatment. The collective efforts of medical professionals, researchers, therapists, support groups and care givers are essential to protect against the dangers of eating disorders and the pursuit of a path to healing.
The information provided below is specific to treatment professionals. You will also find many useful articles on our
About Eating Disorders page. We encourage you to start there and augment your reading with the resources covered here.

April 17-19: Castlewood Treatment Center Presents: Attachment, Neuro-Psychopathology & Treatment- Monterey, CA. Featured Speaker: Patricia Crittenden, Ph.D. 19 hours of continuing education are available through CBBS, NASW and NBCC. This 3-day course focuses on the development, prevention and treatment of psychological disorders. It weaves together theory, human development, assessment, case examples and treatment applications to reframe maladaptive behavior in terms of strategies for self-protection. The course focuses on development from infancy to adulthood, emphasizing the process of adaptation and developmental pathways that carry risk for psychopathology. The model used is the Dynamic-Maturational Model (DMM) of attachment and adaptation. The DMM is relevant to individuals who are at-risk, have been exposed to danger, display disturbed or maladaptive behavior or are diagnosed as having a psychiatric disorder.
