In December of 2008, Trinity Medical Center achieved Magnet™ recognition status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center(ANCC), the world’s largest and most prestigious nurse credentialing organization and a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA).
The recognition included all three of Trinity Medical Center’s Quad-City campuses in Rock Island and Moline, Illinois, and in Bettendorf, Iowa. Less than 5 percent of the country’s hospitals have been recognized as a Magnet organization, a distinction bestowed upon hospitals whose people, processes and culture combine to set the highest standards for the profession of nursing.
“Achieving recognition as the world’s first bi-state hospital is such a privilege earned through a daily commitment to excellence and teamwork by our nurses, administrators and support staff,” said Trinity President and CEO Rick Seidler. “This pinnacle award affirms Trinity’s commitment to providing the best outcomes for every patient, every time.”
The formal Magnet Recognition Program provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that they can expect to receive. The program also provides articles for disseminating successful nursing practices and strategies.
